Eternal Pink Diamond expected to bring $35m

A pink diamond of “unparalleled color and brightness” is expected to fetch over $35m when it goes on sale in New York. Weighing 10.57 carats the stone is IF and fancy vivid “purplish pink”. The Eternal Pink was cut from a 23.87 carat rough discovered in 2019 by DeBeers in Botswana.

The company's headquarters is in Paris and it is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Compagnie Financière Richemont SA. Cartier has a long history of sales to royalty and celebrities.  King Edward VII of England referred to Cartier as "the jeweller of kings and the king of jewellers.

Marlene Dietrich's Jarretière bracelet

Marlene Dietrich's ruby and diamond Jarretière bracelet is being auctioned at Christie’s in New York on June 7. It went under the hammer in 1992 when Dietrich’s estate was sold. The bracelet exceeded its top estimate at Sotheby’s for $990,000. Estimate for the bracelet today is $2.5m to $4.5m.

The bracelet was created in 1937 from a selection of Dietrich’s own gems, including seventy-three rubies and 141 diamonds. It was one of Dietrich’s most cherished pieces.

Anne Eisenhower's jewels shine at Christie's

Marlene Dietrich’s iconic Van Cleef & Arpels ruby and diamond bracelet stars in the collection of the late granddaughter of Dwight D. Eisenhower. 30 pieces will be featured in the Magnificent Jewels of Anne Eisenhower on 7 June during Christie’s Luxury Week in New York.
