Coloured Gemstones keep shining for investors

While jewellery as a whole has had a tough 12 months, decreasing in value by some 5%, other areas of the market have seen growth. The Knight Frank Luxury Investment Index states coloured gemstones have outperformed the wider jewellery market by a large margin.
Some significant sales taking place already in 2019 have continued that trend. As usual it is the finest and most investment worthy stones leading the charge.

A 17.43 carat Kashmir sapphire ring sold for £723,062 at the Bonhams London Jewels sale, obliterating it's pre-sale estimate of £300,000-400,000.
