"Ratnaraj" Ruby makes $10.2m at Christie's Sale

An array of Burmese rubies, Kashmir sapphires and colored diamonds crossed the block at Christie’s November auction in Hong Kong. Headlining was the Ratnaraj ruby, a 10.05-carat Burmese “pigeon’s blood” ruby. It made $10.2 million, achieving the third-highest per-carat price for a ruby at just over $1 million per carat. 5.01-carat Burmese ruby
